Productive Internship Programme at the NAS RA Institute of History

Within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2022 between the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia (NAS RA) and Yerevan Brusov State University, ten students from the English-Armenian Department of the Faculty of Translation completed their professional internship at the Institute from 8 February to 20 March of the current year. The internship was supervised by Harutyun Khudanyan, a researcher at the Department of Ancient History and an accomplished translator.

During the initial days of the programme, the students met with Karen Khachatryan, Deputy Director of the Institute of History, who provided a comprehensive overview of the Institute’s historical trajectory, its primary research orientations, and its significant scholarly achievements. Throughout the internship, the students acquired academic insights into the translation of scholarly texts in English and mastered essential computational tools for translators. Furthermore, they enhanced their professional competencies by translating academic papers authored by the Institute’s staff.

On the final day of this successful programme, 20 March, Hamo Sukiasyan, Acting Director of the Institute of History, received the students and presented them with certificates of excellence in recognition of their outstanding performance.
