On November 27, 2026, the NAS RA Institute of History is organising an international scientific conference titled “Historical Primary Sources on Armenian Colonies” dedicated to the 350th anniversary of the birth of Mkhitar Sebastatsi, the founder of the Mechitarist Congregation.

Those wishing to participate must submit report abstracts (up to 1 page) to the Department of History of Armenian Communities and Diaspora (e-mail: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) by September 30 of this year, including the report topic, the name and surname of the participant, as well as the institution represented by the speaker (independent researchers may also participate). Authors will be notified of the selection of their topics within a 10-day period.

Topics approved by the Organising Committee will be presented at the conference.
The working languages of the conference are Armenian, English, and Russian.

The conference is organised in in-person and online formats.

15 minutes will be provided for reports.

The materials reported at the conference will be published in a collection of articles dedicated to the 350th anniversary of the birth of Mkhitar Sebastatsi.

Accommodation and meal expenses are covered by the participants or the sending organisations.
