A solemn session took place at NAS RA Institute of History on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of renowned scientist Suren Eremyan - a researcher of history of ancient and medieval Armenia, the founder academician of the Armenian classical cartography.
Director of the Institute of History, NAS RA Academician Ashot Melkonyan made a detailed speech thus summarizing the works of the prominent scientist and assessing his scientific merit. Hayk Hakobyan, Chair of the Ancient History Department at NAS RA Institute of History, delivered a report on Suren Yeremyan’s life and scientific activities. Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor Gohar Vardumyan, Doctor of Historical Sciences Yervand Margaryan, Candidate of Philological Sciences Artsvi Bakhchinyan, Dean of the Faculty of History, Doctor of Historical Sciences Edik Minasyan expressed their views and observations on Yeremyan’s scientific and human nature and character.
Suggestions were made about naming the Ancient History Department at NAS RA Institute of History in honor of the glorious scientist.
