INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ENTITLED “THE MOVEMENTS AND TRANSFORMATIONS OF ARMENIANS IN THE 20TH AND AT THE BEGINNING OF THE 21ST CC.”

On June 27-29, 2023 Beirut (Lebanon) hosted the second international conference entitled “The Movements and Transformations of Armenians in the 20th and at the Beginning of the 21st cc.” (the first was held on June 29-30, 2022, in Yerevan), which was initiated by the Center for the Study of the Armenian Diaspora of Haykazian University of Beirut and Armenian State Pedagogical University named after Kh. Abovyan.

Scholars from Lebanon, Armenia, Artsakh, USA, France participated in the conference. Among the two dozen presenters, the Senior Researcher of the NAS RA Institute of History, Cd. Hist. Sci., Associate Professor Lilit Hovhannisyan (“The Transformations of the Diplomatic Content of the Armenian Question in the Years 1878-1923 with the Coverage of Armenian Historiography (1991-2022)”), Researcher, Cd. Hist. Sci. Ani Fishenkchyan (“The Movements of Syrian Armenians in 1946-2010: Challenges of Transformation”), Researcher, Cd. Hist. Sci. Karen Mkrtchyan (“The Movements and Socio-Educational Problems in the Armenian Colony of Iran: 1979-2020”) presented most interesting reports.
